Strategic support at Chigamik Community Health Centre

I currently sit on the board of Chigamik Community Health Centre, where I represent the needs of the French community. I was part of the team that informed the CHC’s strategic plan in 2024, advocating for better supports for underserved communities. As I learn more about the challenges of the health sector, I continue to bring an equity and diversity lens to the table.

Environmental sustainability

In my personal life, I’m a proud ecoholic. At Huronia Historical Parks, I’ve pushed for more sustainable purchasing for our retail store. At Georgian, I sat on the environmental committee and advocated for big changes like on-campus composting and plastic straw bans. I also managed promotion for sustainability events, from e-waste collections to clothing swaps. Here I am, eight months pregnant, handing out rakes and garbage bags at our 2019 campus cleanup.

Festival du loup

I’m a fully bilingual Franco-Ontarian from Perkinsfield. For several years, I was an active member of la Meute culturelle, a group that organizes many local francophone events, including Festival du loup. For two years, I ran all promotional efforts for the committee, from web content, to social media posts, to news releases. It was intense, but fun! Here are some of the projects I championed and led.

La Clé

I sat on the board of La Clé, Simcoe County’s only francophone social service agency. While I was there, I advocated for additional supports for my community, pushed for better salaries for staff, and offered suggestions to improve the organization’s promotional materials.

Georgian’s Got Talent (or not)

From my very first year at Georgian, I helped with this staff-led fundraiser for under-privileged Georgian College students. For two years, I sat on the organizing committee and helped with promotion. I’ve also been a stagehand and performer.

  • At United Way, I co-chaired an internal fundraising campaign that raised more than $200,000.
  • I was a research volunteer for Kids Help Phone after leaving the organization, conducting phone surveys about client experiences.
  • For two years, I was a call taker for the Sexual Assault Survivor Support Line at York University.
